Barstool Sports boss – and notorious gambler – Dave Portnoy starts the new NFL season badly as he loses a HUGE 0,000 wager on opening night

The Baltimore Ravens were not the only ones to start off the NFL season on a bad note, as Barstool boss, and notorious gambler, Dave Portnoy is also licking his proverbial wounds.

Portnoy lost the $300,000 he bet on the Ravens to defeat the Chiefs, looking devastated in the final moments of the game.

Baltimore seemingly tied the game on the final play of regulation, when Isaiah Likely caught a Lamar Jackson touchdown pass in the back of the end zone.

However, the pass was called incomplete when the edge of one of his cleats was out of bounds.

Portnoy lost a third of a million with the Ravens at +130 odds to win against Kansas City. That would have earned him a $390,000 win.

The Barstool boss has placed several humungous bets in the past, including $100,000 on the Indiana Fever to win the WNBA championship last month.

Portnoy bet $1.1million on the Celtics to win the NBA championship and $1million on the Oilers to win the Stanley Cup, which put him about even with Boston’s victory and Edmonton’s loss.

Portnoy once filed for bankruptcy but has since turned a profit professionally and routinely bets an exorbitant amount on sports.

The Barstool boss tends to stick to some of his favorites when placing his bets including Caitlin Clark, Scottie Scheffler, and Boston sports teams.

Portnoy did look happy on a live stream when Likely caught the ball and Ravens’ coach John Harbaugh gave the signal that his team would go for a 2-point conversion instead of going for overtime.

That all went away moments later after the pass was deemed incomplete.
