Bengaluru Police Arrest Four in Connection to Assault on Fitness Trainer – News Karnataka

The Bengaluru police have arrested four individuals, including Ashwin, the manager of Kannada film actor Dhruva Sarja, for their alleged involvement in the assault of fitness trainer Prashanth Poojari on May 26. The other three arrested are Nagendra, the driver, and assailants Subbu and Harsha.

Details:

  • Incident: On May 26, Poojari was attacked by two bike-borne assailants, Subbu and Harsha, while returning home on K R Road in Banashankari second stage. The incident was reported to the police by Poojari, who identified the attackers.
  • Case Registration: The police registered a case under Sections 41 (wrongful restraint) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
  • Arrests: Subbu and Harsha were initially arrested and later revealed that Nagendra was involved. Ashwin, along with Nagendra, was also arrested after the police investigation.

Motivation: According to Bengaluru city police commissioner B. Dayananda, Ashwin and Nagendra were reportedly unhappy with the close relationship between Poojari and Sarja, leading them to orchestrate the attack.

Current Status: All four suspects are currently out on bail. The police revealed that Nagendra instructed Subbu and Harsha to carry out the attack at Ashwin’s request.
