What To Expect For October Prime Day 2024

It may feel like Prime Day just ended, but we’ve already got our sights set on October Prime Day 2024. For the past two years, Amazon has run a second major sale in the fall, colloquially known as October Prime Day. Just like the July sale, the fall event typically lasts 48 hours and features Black Friday-level deals on thousands of products across Amazon’s site.

In recent years, October Prime Day has become the unofficial start to the holiday shopping season—and we expect to see something similar in 2024. Here’s everything we know about the event so far, plus some Amazon deals that are worth shopping right away.

Will There Be An October Prime Day In 2024?

We’re operating under the assumption that there will be an October Prime Day this year, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. Last year, Amazon didn’t announce the sale until September, so we may have to wait a month or so until we know for sure whether it’s happening.

How Many Times A Year Does Amazon Do Prime Days?

For the past two years, Amazon has hosted two Prime Day sales a year. The sale was originally an annual summer event, but in 2022, the e-tailer debuted a second Prime Day Sale in October. That pattern continued in 2023. It’s worth noting that the second sale is typically assigned a different name—last year it was referred to as Prime Big Deal Days.

When Is October Prime Day 2024?

As we mentioned above, Amazon hasn’t officially announced any dates or details about October Prime Day 2024. That said, we’re guessing the sale will kick off around Oct. 8 based on what we saw in 2023.

How Much Is An Amazon Prime Membership In 2024?

An Amazon Prime membership costs $14.99 per month. You have the option to pay an annual $139 fee, which brings the price down to about $11.58 per month. If you haven’t had an Amazon Prime membership for the past 12 months, you can also sign up for a free 30-day trial period first.

Best Amazon Deals Right Now

While October Prime Day is still months away, there are some solid Amazon deals available right now. Here, we’ve rounded up seven offers that our deals editors recommend shopping right away.

We’re big fans of the Hatch Restore 2. It’s our top pick for the best sunrise alarm clock and it made our coveted Forbes Vetted Best Product Awards list. The clock is customizable, has a robust sound library and a chic aesthetic to boot. This discount has been available since June, so we may see a steeper drop over the coming months, but it’s still a decent savings if you’ve had your eye on this clock.

Although it’s not the newest generation, this Apple iPad is still a solid daily driver for the essentials (e.g. browsing online, writing and reading). Even better, this discount is the lowest price we’ve ever seen for our favorite budget iPad.

The Yeti Hopper M20 is a larger version of our pick for the best backpack cooler for insulation. It’s durable, spacious, heavily insulated and has cushy straps that make it pleasant to lug around. This discounts saves you $65 on the popular pack.

After rigorous testing, we picked the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones as the best wireless headphones overall. They’re incredibly comfortable, deliver some of the best noise cancellation we’ve found and—of course—sound great. This deal has been available for most of August, but it’s still the lowest price we’ve seen for these Bose headphones. (Psst, the Sony WH-1000XM5 were a close second and they’re on sale too.)

If you’re looking to brighten up your smile, Crest 3D Whitestrips are a crowd favorite. This pack comes with 44 strips total (22 for your top and bottom teeth) to use once per day. This discount is just a few bucks shy of the best price we’ve seen for the kit on Amazon.

We recommend this Coway Airmega air purifier if you need an option for a smaller space. It’s effective (removing up to 99.7% of contaminants in the air), quiet and offers useful automated features that help conserve energy. We’ve seen this model sell for less in the past, but this deal is one of the better discounts we’ve seen so far this year.

Fitbit was one of the original fitness tracker brands. The Inspire 3 is a simple and straightforward piece of tech that’s great for most people—especially Android users who don’t want to go all in on an Apple Watch. It covers all the basics including sleep, fitness and stress tracking, and has a robust battery life that can last up to 10 days. This discount is $10 shy of the lowest price we’ve seen for this model.
