Man stabbed in throat by acquaintance at LA Fitness in N.J., cops say
A 22-year-old New Jersey man has been charged with attempted murder after police in Clark say he stabbed an acquaintance in the throat with a box cutter at LA Fitness on Sunday afternoon.
The man was treated and released from an area hospital following the attack, which took place just before 4 p.m. at the fitness center on Raritan Road, Clark police said
Antonio Lampon, of Scotch Plains, fled after the stabbing and was arrested the following day. He is also charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
Police didn’t immediately describe the circumstances that led to the assault.
Lampon was brought to the Union County jail ahead of a detention hearing. Attorney information wasn’t immediately available.
