Michigan’s Best Travel Deals: Yoga at a waterfront resort, island bike rides in fall
The temperatures may still feel like summer, but fall deals are rolling into our inbox this week. Like a lot of you, we’re scouting out the fun travel ideas that help set a vacation apart as a memory-maker.
Sure, we love fall hikes and color tours. But we also want a little extra next time we book a getaway. That’s what we found this week with a couple deals here:
#1 The Inn at Bay Harbor
We love this resort tucked along the Little Traverse Bay shoreline inside the beautiful Bay Harbor development. It has hotel-type accommodations, but also a string of suites and then a row or two of private cottages just adjacent to the main resort. Its location allows you time on the water, or it’s just a short walk to the downtown village corridor of Bay Harbor, which has shops and restaurants.
The Inn at Bay Harbor has fitness rooms and offers on-site classes. This fall, it will have weekend yoga and barre classes that are open to resort guests as well as the public. Want a cool combo? Hit up a fitness class, then walk down to Bay Harbor’s Maple + Batter for breakfast or brunch.
“Beginning September 21, the fall fitness schedule is on! Join Tyra on Saturday mornings for Yoga and Barre classes, and start your weekends with movement,” resort staff said.
“Whether you’re already going strong or you’re starting a new fitness journey, public and resort guests alike are invited to enjoy our small group classes each weekend.”
Classes are $20 per person. You can find more details here.
#2 Mackinac Island’s Mission Point Fall Experience
Mission Point, one of the biggest resorts on Mackinac Island, has designed a Fall Experience getaway package that bundles activities and perks so guests can create their own vacations.
We like these buffet-style vacation bundles because they allow people to pick what’s most important to them, and structure their getaway for maximum fun. This Fall Experience package includes half-day bike rentals, round-trip ferry tickets, and pretty generous daily food and beverage credits at Mission Point’s lineup of restaurants and bars.
This spot on the island’s sunrise side puts you just a short walk or bike ride from town, yet feels set apart enough that you’re really getting away from it all. And fall is always such a beautiful time to visit.
