The Last Word: With Queen Throne ‘Babe Cave’ and High-Tech Features, Amped Fitness to Open in Richardson Oct. 14

.…on the Oct. 14 opening of Amped’s first Texas location in Richardson—featuring a women’s only queen throne “Babe Cave,” a wide range of high-tech features, and more.
New fitness center brands have been pumping into North Texas lately, from Lumin Fitness in Las Colinas featuring gamification tech via wall-to-wall LED screens; Canyon Ranch in Fort Worth with its “world-class wellness” spa offerings and high-tech, high-end fitness; EoS Fitness locations across DFW featuring MOVEoS Cinema workouts; to Playkout, the “first-ever” pickleball-inspired fitness studio, which recently opened in Dallas and also features video-based gamification. But next month, yet another brand is launching in the region—and it’s the only one with a women’s-only “Babe Cave,” complete with a neon-topped “Queen AF” throne.
That’s just one of the many exotic and high-tech features at Amped Fitness, which will open Oct. 14 at 110 Campbell Road in Richardson. It’s the 25th corporate-owned location from the Florida-based fitness company. (And P.S., only the Babe Cave is off-limits to male guests; the rest of the place will feature the usual gym mix of genders sweating, lifting, and working out.)
Despite its promise of “low price” memberships, Amped has
lots of intriguing and high-tech ingredients, including signature blue mood lighting in the main weight-lifting area; red-light therapy infrared saunas; Normatec compression boots, Hyperice percussion gun therapy, and Evolt-360 body composition scans.
Plus, there’s a cryobed, hydromassages, a “functional freedom zone,” virtual fitness classes, and a “Kids Club” to keep the tykes busy. And after a hot workout, if you dare, you can cool off with a Chilly Goat cold plunge in Amped’s Recovery Room.
Open 24/7 with an ‘EDLP’ philosophy
Amped’s “EDLP” philosophy—short for Experience Design, Low Price—means that members can expect a high-end fitness facility designed around a community-first experience without the high cost, the brand says. And night owls take note: The location will be open 24/7.
The brand plans further “rapid expansion” in the Lone Star State, says CEO Travis LaBazzo.
“After attending the Retail Liveevent in Austin, we’re more confident than ever that Amped Fitness is going to take over Texas,” he said in a statement. “We have some incredible plans in the works, and we can’t wait to bring our unique fitness culture to more cities across the state.”
Amped said it’s considering the launch of another “Signature” location—a luxury fitness concept with unique amenities and a different price point from the one in Richardson, “catering to those looking for a more exclusive fitness experience.”
“We have a lot of very exciting things planned for the near future in Texas,” LaBazzo said, adding that Amped is “bringing our energy, our atmosphere, and our passion for fitness to more cities” soon.
In the run-up to the grand opening on October 14, Amped said it’s offering discounted membership packages. You can find out more about the club and the packages here.
