Sports Hall of Fame ceremony set for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in P.E. Monroe Auditorium – Lenoir-Rhyne University Athletics
HICKORY, NC – The 47th edition of the Lenoir-Rhyne Sports Hall of Fame is set to take place this Saturday, September 14th, in P.E. Monroe Auditorium.
A closed breakfast will be taking place from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in Shuford Arena for all new and current members of the Sports Hall of Fame, as well as the Teams of Distinction. Following the breakfast, a ceremony open to the public will be held in P.E. Monroe Auditorium, beginning at 10 a.m.
This year’s class of inductees features Ed Byrd ’69, Tracy Naidas Coleman ’06, Catherine Glass ’08, Kent George ’09, Michael Green ’13, Dawon Millwood ’12, Josh Rudder ’09, Todd Starkey, and Isaiah Whitaker ’14. Also being recognized this year are two Teams of Distinction, the 2013 Football Team and the 2010 Women’s Soccer Team.
The nine inductees, along with the 2010 Women’s Soccer and the 2013 Football teams, will also be honored during Lenoir-Rhyne’s football game against Tiffin, which begins at 1 p.m. at Moretz Stadium.
