This week’s business tidbits include a new health care clinic in Zillah, the closure of Mama Corie’s in Yakima, and real estate listings for the Stop-n-Go and Suntides Golf Course and RV park.
• A new OB-GYN clinic founded by Dr. Jordann Loehr opened Tuesday in downtown Zillah. HD Rose Gynecology at 618 Railroad Ave. provides various gynecology services, including well-woman exams, and obstetrics services including prenatal screenings. Loehr is an obstetrician-gynecologist who serves patients in the Lower Yakima Valley. She also is among the organizers of a referendum to establish a public hospital district in the Lower Valley.
Last week’s ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening included remarks from Loehr, Zillah Mayor Scott Carmack and other city of Zillah officials. A complete list of services offered, hours of operation and more information is available at www.hdrose.org.

• Mama Corie’s Kitchen has closed its downtown Yakima location at 114 Staff Sgt. Pendleton Way. A notice posted Aug. 29 on the restaurant’s Facebook page by owner Corie Ratliff stated, in part, that the owner of the property “wanted to go in a different direction with the space.” She added, “This isn’t goodbye, this is just us moving in a different direction! I hope that you can come out and support us when we pop up at events. We will still be taking special orders and making all our goodies as much as possible.”
• A longtime Yakima Valley business, the Stop-n-Go drive-thru restaurant at 2820 Fruitvale Blvd., has been listed for sale by Rick Lyon with the Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate office in Yakima. In an email to the Yakima Herald-Republic, Lyon noted that owners Anthony and Josie Wade “have owned (Stop-n-Go) for many years as did Anthony’s parents before him. They have decided that it’s time to pursue new endeavors as a family and hope that someone will be excited to continue carrying its legacy into the future.” The business remains open for lunch and dinner Mondays through Saturdays. It is listed for $625,000.
• In other real estate news, the Suntides Golf Course and RV Park near Gleed has been listed for sale by Windermere Real Estate of Yakima. The listing with Realtor John Mark states the 18-hole golf course hosts 36,000 rounds annually and includes a driving range, pro shop, and on-site restaurant and bar. The adjacent RV park at 231 Pence Road has 60 pull-through spots equipped with full hookups. It is listed at $15 million.
• Renovations and repairs continue at the Union Gap El Porton restaurant after it was severely damaged by a fire two years ago. The location at 2512 Main St. is scheduled to reopen for dine-in, take out and online orders in October.
• A new four-unit strip mall is nearing completion at 1415 S. Third Ave. in Yakima, near the northeast corner of Third and Mead avenues. A restaurant is among the proposed tenants, according to permits applications listed by the city of Yakima.
