Recently, a shocking case from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh came to light that left us all shocked. A man addicted to gambling put his wife on a stake while he was playing a game with his friends, he allegedly let his friends sexually assault his wife. The woman has reportedly revealed that the culprit lost everything including their property and jewellery to gambling and when he was left with nothing, put his wife at stake. The victim reportedly sought refuge at her mother’s house, however, the husband and his friends tracked her down and resorted to violence as they attacked her. They were reportedly married since 2013 and the husband was a known alcoholic and gambler. She had also faced emotional and physical abuse from her because of dowery. At her mother’s house, their fight escalated and the culprit ended up thrashing her, tearing her clothes, assaulting her, and breaking her finger.

The attackers fled the scene as soon as the neighbours intervened. However, the husband evaded his arrest despite a police report. A case has reportedly been registered against the perpetrators and the incident is being investigated as reported by Vidyasagar Mishra, the Rampur Superintendent of Police.
