Jude Bellingham Graciously Accepts Laureus World Sports Breakthrough of the Year Award
Jude Bellingham, fresh off the back of a spectacular game-winner against Barcelona on the weekend, has added yet another accolade to his already impressive list of achievements. At the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards held at the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid, Bellingham was honored with the Breakthrough of the Year award.
Expressing his gratitude, Bellingham humbly acknowledged the honor, stating, “I’m delighted,” Bellingham said. “Simply being here was already an honour. Being named Laureus Breakthrough is a privilege and I have to thank many people, my family, friends and above all the people at Real Madrid who have helped me this year. Being here is a privilege, alongside incredible athletes. I hope I can learn something from them tonight before I go home.”
Reflecting on recent triumphs both individually and collectively, Bellingham shared, “It’s been a good week for the club and on a personal level,” Bellingham explained. “When the team wins, I’m always happy. I feel a bit tired after the Clásico and the 120 minutes in Manchester and this award gives me a bit more energy. This club is special. Signing for Real Madrid is the best thing that has ever happened to me. It’s the highlight of 2023. I’m grateful to be able to play here every day and to be surrounded by very special people.“
For Bellingham, joining Real Madrid has been transformative, marking the pinnacle of his career thus far. He remarked, “Signing for Real Madrid is the best thing that has ever happened to me.” Grateful for the opportunity to represent the club and surrounded by a supportive environment, Bellingham emphasized the significance of his journey.
This latest honor adds to Bellingham’s remarkable season, which has already seen him clinch the Golden Boy Award and the Kopa Trophy.
