Martial artists excel in world competition  – Western Wayne News

Western Wayne News reported in the July 17 issue that members of the Meng’s Martial Arts School in Richmond would be competing in the first world championships ever to be held at the Southern Shaolin Temple in China. 

Meng’s competitors made the trip to China and brought back 10 medals in an impressive showing. Competing against the best of the best worldwide, there were two bronze medal winners, four silver medal winners and four Medal of Excellence winners, which translates to top five in the world.

Simo Kristina Noaks: Silver — Chi Sau, Medal of Excellence — Advanced Siu Lim Tao Forms

Savannah Mitchell: Medal of Excellence — Advanced Siu Lim Tao Forms, Medal of Excellence — 61/2 Point Pole

Melissa Wehrley: Silver — Chi Sau Sparring, Medal of Excellence — Advanced Siu Lim Tao Forms

Jeffrey Thomas Mills: Silver – Chum Kiu Forms, Bronze — Chi Sau Sparring, Medal of Excellence — 6 1/2 Point Pole
