Hector International Airport sets new passenger record

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Hector International Airport says passenger traffic hit a record in August.

The total passenger count for August 2024 was 48,514 enplanements, which is up over 10% from the same period last year. This month marks the fifth record of passengers flying out of Hector this year.

“The Fargo-Moorhead community and surrounding areas continue to choose the easy way to get away,” said airport executive director Shawn Dobberstein. “The positive trend in enplanements, along with our ongoing terminal expansion, prioritizes passengers and positions us to keep serving our region successfully for years to come.”

Three all-time passenger records were broken last month:

• The previous enplanement record was just set in July 2024 with 48,334 passengers.

• American Airlines had another all-time monthly enplanement record in Fargo, exceeding their record set last month.

• Frontier Airlines also had another all-time monthly enplanement record in Fargo, exceeding their record set last month.

To accommodate the growing passenger traffic, the airport’s terminal expansion and parking ramp construction continues. Airport officials say the project is currently on schedule and will bring more technology and ease of travel to passengers.
