Skytesting Civil, LLC

Led by President Inez Birbiglia, Skytesting Civil is a special inspections and materials testing lab serving Long Island and the New York metropolitan area. Based in Bohemia, the 60% women-owned business offers third-party testing for all construction phase inspections.

Skytesting Civil has been in business for three years and has 18 employees. The team is highly experienced, including Birbiglia, who has more than 20 years of experience in project management, construction inspection and environmental services within both the public and private sectors.

Birbiglia said having a women-owned business allows her to “reinforce to my daughter and sons that both women and men can be strong, decisive and focused leaders in whatever pursuit they choose and that it is never too late to reinvent yourself in business.”

To support women in her business and the community, Birbiglia is active with the New York Metro Chapter of Women Construction Owners and Executives. According to Birbiglia, this organization “is highly focused on legislative changes for women in construction as well as tremendously charitable to STEM programs for young women, future female engineers and women in need who are becoming self-sufficient through home ownership.”

Skytesting Civil performed inspections and materials testing on a 100% pro bono basis for the new construction of the LT Michael Murphy Navy Seal Museum in West Sayville. “What a beautiful building and tribute!” said Birbiglia, who counts this among Skytesting Civil’s most rewarding projects and efforts.
