I dress modestly — here’s what I’m shopping for fall and winter
Fall is officially here! For someone who dresses modestly as per my Islamic beliefs, this time of year is especially exciting. Not only are the fashion trends better aligned with my modest fashion preferences — but the weather is cooler, so covering up doesn’t leave me sweating.
If you’re looking for modest fashion picks for fall, you’re in luck. This season’s trends include chic jackets, sleek dresses and more. Many of the pieces are timeless and versatile, which really allow you to put your own spin on a look. Below, shop the best modest fall fashion finds according to me.
The perfect piece to layer for additional coverage, length and warmth. Bonus: it can also help elevate a basic outfit.
A must-have during transitional weather — you can wear it zipped up or unzipped as a top layer. This tunic option is perfect for those looking for a more modest, longer fit.
This shirt dress can be worn buttoned up as a dress and or left open as a cover up to add length. Either way, it provides modest coverage and elegance.
The wide leg pant jean is making a comeback; and it’s my go-to style for a modest fit. This option has it all — cut, colour and price point.
You can never have enough T-shirts. This luxe, full-coverage option puts a spin on your run-of-the-mill tee.
A cozy knit is great for cooler days, and this chic mock-neck tunic provides additional coverage.
Denim skirts are making a comeback! This A-line option is relaxed and has no slits on the back, which is ideal. While it’s a midi length, I’ll be pairing it with tights and boots for full coverage.
Matching sets are still trending — and I’m not complaining. This two-piece is cozy, long and loose, but still cute.
This demure dress is fitted in the right areas, but flared to provide a looser overall fit.
While this may be a dress, it can also double as a longer shirt if you’re looking for more coverage. It can be worn buttoned up, open and or even as a dress with tights.
This flowy and fun skirt can be styled in various ways (pair it with tights, boots, sweaters, jackets — the list is endless!) The satin fabric is loose, comfortable and flattering.
This stunning dress is available in two fall-friendly colours: Black and maroon.
For sunny days that aren’t as chilly, this cotton-linen blend dress is perfect. It can be styled up or down as needed, and you can always throw on a sweater or jacket when the temperature dips.
These utility pants feature a tapered cut for a casual look.
This denim shirt can be worn as a shirt or a light jacket.
This twist on a classic blazer is soft and long, which provides more coverage while still remaining office-appropriate.
These ’90s-inspired corduroy pants are seriously perfect for fall — the cut and colour are very on trend. Pair them with ballet flats or boots for a more edgy look.
