Antonio Pierce didn’t hesitate to call out his players after the Las Vegas Raiders faced an embarrassing loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Per the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Vincent Bonsignore, Pierce said some of his players made “business decisions” in the loss and indicated that in turn, he and his coaching staff will make some business decisions of their own.
“I think as the game went on — I don’t think it was the team — I think there was definitely some individuals that made business decisions,” Pierce said. “And we’ll make business decisions going forward, as well.”

The Raiders’ loss was nothing short of embarrassing on Sunday, especially considering Las Vegas handled business against the Baltimore Ravens just a week ago.
The Panthers appointed Andy Dalton as the starter, marking his first start since 2022. Despite the game being his first real action of the season, he had his way with the Raiders’ defense, throwing for 319 passing yards and three touchdowns. It was the first time this season a quarterback had reached 300-plus passing yards and three touchdowns.
The Panthers’ 36 points were also the most they have scored in a game since the 2022 season.
Las Vegas quarterback Gardner Minshew had 214 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception before Aidan O’Connell came in to throw for 82 yards and a touchdown.
As Pierce and his staff evaluate what “business decisions” they will make, it’s reasonable to believe some of those moves will be on defense.
