Marshall Announces New 70-Hour Battery Monitor III A.N.C. Wireless Headphones

Marshall has just revealed the latest product in its personal audio line up, a set of wireless headphones with an impressive 70-hour battery life, released alongside a campaign that feature’s Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong.

The new Monitor III A.N.C. headphones build on the British brand’s over 60 years of audio expertise to become its flagship offering in the personal audio department. As the name suggests, the new product features active noise-cancelling (ANC) and though this is a pretty standard feature found in most brand’s headphones today, what sets the Monitor III A.N.C. apart is a reputed 70 hours of battery with ANC turned on. And, if 70 hours wasn’t long enough for you, the brand says the headphones can run for over 100 hours with ANC switched off – call it a compromise. Such long battery life seems to be a trend amongst recent headphones releases, such as the P100 from Cambridge Audio or Dyson’s OnTrac, both of which offer similar battery life – however, it has to be said, both fall short of Marshall’s 70-hour claim, achieving 60 and 50 hours respectively.

As well as ANC, the headphones feature an upgraded transparency mode to filter sounds in and keep you aware of your surroundings. Marshall has included its ‘Adaptive Loudness’ technology with its new headphones, which automatically adjusts the lows, mids and highs to ensure they are at “the most optimal” level no matter the volume. The headphones are built with 32mm drivers that have a 20 Hz – 20 kHz frequency response, and – if you choose to use them wired up – they have a 35 ohms impedance, meaning they’ll pair perfectly with low-power devices like smartphones (with no additional amplifier needed). Marshall has also introduced a new spatial audio feature it’s calling ‘Soundstage’, allowing users to experience their music in an immersive new way.

In terms of portability, the Monitor III A.N.C. are foldable and weigh just 250 g (8.8 oz) making them ideal for travel. They also come with real, tactile buttons, one of which is multi-directional and controls various settings such as volume and track selection, while the other – the “M” button – is fully user-customizable. Like most modern devices, the headphones charge via USB-C and need around two and half hours to fully charge.

Marshall’s Monitor III A.N.C. are available now via Marshall’s website priced at £299 GBP / $349 USD / €349 EUR.
