Brooklyn Park Small Business Center Sees Success After First Year

4:39 PM | Tuesday, September 24, 2024

One year after opening its doors, the city of Brooklyn Park’s Small Business Center is seeing success.

The space, located on the corner of Brooklyn Boulevard and West Broadway, has 60 office and retail spaces. Malcolm Hicks, Brooklyn Park’s business development coordinator, said the center offers development resources for members.

“The small businesses being the backbone of our culture and our society, it’s really critical that we are there to assist them in any way possible,” Hicks said.

A wide range of businesses are inside the center. Retail spaces fill one hallway, including a hat store, nail salon and massage space. Other companies take up offices inside, including a gym.

People can rent private offices within the co-working space.

Hicks said tenants occupy 100 percent of the retail spaces and fill 85 percent of the office spaces.

He said the success isn’t surprising, but a lot of work went into it. Looking ahead, Hicks is hoping for more.

“My main goal is continued growth for the center, and making sure our business owners are prosperous and acquire generational wealth for their families,” Hicks said.

To learn how you can obtain your own space, there’s more information on the Brooklyn Park Small Business Center website.
