The 2024 MLB playoffs are almost here, but some playoff berths are still up in the air in both the National League and the American League.
What do the betting odds say about who will seize those final 2024 postseason spots?
Take a look at odds for making the playoffs for the teams still in MLB playoff contention in both leagues, courtesy of BetMGM Sportsbook, as well as odds to win the NL, AL and World Series.
The final MLB regular-season games are scheduled for Sept. 29, 2024, with the 2024 MLB postseason scheduled to begin Oct. 1, 2024.

2024 National League playoff odds
Who will earn the final postseason berths in the National League?
The Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers have each clinched berths in the NL playoffs. Four teams are still in contention for the final three berths: the San Diego Padres, New York Mets, Arizona Diamondbacks and Atlanta Braves.
The Padres are 90-66, in great shape to make the postseason. In fact, BetMGM thinks it’s a formality that San Diego will be in the postseason. It doesn’t include the team in its odds to make the playoffs.
That leaves the Mets, Diamondbacks and Braves fighting for the two remaining spots in the postseason, according to BetMGM’s odds.
The Mets (87-69) are at -400 to make the postseason and +310 to not make it.
The Diamondbacks (87-7) are given the same odds: -400 to be in the postseason and +310 to not be in it.
The Braves (85-71) are the longshot, according to the odds. BetMGM puts Atlanta at +115 to make the postseason. It is at -135 to not earn a playoff berth.

2024 American League playoff odds
Who will earn the final postseason berths in the American League?
The New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians are the only two teams to have secured their spots in the playoffs.
The Houston Astros, Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals, Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners are Tampa Bay Rays are still in the mix for the postseason.
BetMGM doesn’t include the Astros (85-72) and Orioles (86-70) in its odds, thinking the two are virtual locks to get two of the final four playoff bids.
It also doesn’t interestingly include the Red Sox (79-78) and Rays (78-78), who are close to elimination, leaving four teams left to fight for the final two berths: the Kansas City Royals, Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners.
Of those four teams, it gives the Tigers (82-74) the best odds to make the postseason at -400 (and they are +310 to not make the playoffs).
The Royals (82-74) are next at -165 to make the playoffs (and +140 to not).
BetMGM Sportsbook puts the Twins (81-75) at -123 odds to make the AL postseason. They are +115 to miss out on the American League playoffs.
The Mariners (81-76) are the longest shot of the AL teams still in playoff contention, with +650 odds to make the playoffs and -900 odds to not.

Who will win the 2024 World Series?
BetMGM Sportsbook has odds to win the World Series for every MLB team still in playoff contention, with the Los Angeles Dodgers leading the way at +325, followed by the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies at +450 each.
