Mugler’s SS25 Silhouettes Are Sharp Enough To Cut Glass

Since 2018, creative director of Mugler, Casey Cadwallader has shown off the brand’s large-than-life personality. This Spring/Summer 2025 season, he’s showcasing the brand’s classic ’90s structured silhouettes through sharp tailoring and a modern edge.

WHERE: The showcase was at Paris‘ concert hall, Le Trianon — providing the perfect space for the brand to display its intimate show within the ballroom in Pigalle.

WHO:  Cardi B came to the runwauy show with hair mirroring this season’s runway look — sleek, sharp and styled as long curtains that completely covered her eyes. Singer Kun commanded attention in a crisp, pinstriped suit and turned heads with his strikingly vibrant red hair.

HEAR: In addition to electronic beats, the show closed with a soft remix of Cassie’s “Me & U,” adding a nostalgic yet intimate vibe that perfectly contrasted the high-energy runway.

SEE: Over the years, Mugler has consistently pushed boundaries with its shows matching the boldness. Typically, Mugler runways are illuminated by spotlights or harsh, bright lighting to intensify focus on the models. However, this time Cadwallader took a fresh approach, opting for a daylight-filled space that stripped away the theatrics. The result? A renewed emphasis on what truly matters — the clothes. Without the usual dramatics, the collection still made an impeccable impact and one thing that stood out was Cadwallader’s clear intent to highlight the structured designs because it’s not Mugler without those razor-sharp silhouettes — as sharp as Timothée Chalamet‘s jawline. This precision was mirrored in the wigs crafted by hair artist Zhou Xue Ming, adding another layer of sculpted beauty.

Dresses in the collection were designed to emphasize the chest, hips and waist, creating a silhouette that mirrors the natural contours of a woman’s body. Suits got the Mugler treatment with corset-like lacing along the sides, pulling in the waist and topped with broad, sharply defined shoulders. Meanwhile, corset bodysuits featured bold geometric lines and architectural details to further accentuate the models’ forms.

But the true showstopper and one of our favorite looks — the Mugler raincoat. Yes, a raincoat. This transparent piece, a collaboration with Baccarat, turned heads with its dazzling grape-shaped crystal raindrops intricately woven into the fabric, making it the unforgettable highlight of the collection.

TOUCH: Clean-cut suiting, hard structured dresses juxtaposed with soft mesh corsets, along with the occasional textured piece, all come together to create a striking collection that balances power and sensuality, paying homage to Mugler’s signature aesthetic while pushing boundaries with contemporary flair.

TASTE: We’ll now be cutting our bangs sharp and turning up to the office with shape accentuated suits — thank you Mugler!
