QuikTrip is expanding to Fairfield, Ohio, with a new travel center as part of the convenience-store retailer’s Midwest growth plans, Aisha Jefferson, corporate communications manager, told CSP. QuikTrip said it plans to open the new location by 2026.

“QuikTrip has been focused on expanding the footprint of our travel center network to geographies in the U.S. that leverage our distribution network,” Jefferson said.

The location, which is in the early planning stages of development, will be approximately 7,300 square feet and will service 18 cars for gas and five diesel bays for trucks, Jefferson said.

The Fairfield location will feature a more spacious store design than a traditional QuikTrip.

“The store will be equipped with an expanded QT Kitchens that offer made-fresh-to-order food and drink items, we will also offer grab-and-go-freshly-crafted sandwiches, salads, and wraps that will occupy your taste buds, or spoil yourself with our scrumptious donuts and pastries,” Jefferson said.

Ohio is not the only Midwest state that QuikTrip is expanding its unit growth. QuikTrip is also building convenience stores in Indiana. The locations will be in Daleville and Battle Gound and will be the chain’s first two stores in the state.

The entrance into the Indiana market “presents an ideal market for our travel center concept due to its high-traffic interstate and robust economy. We are excited to join the community and become a good neighbor,” Jefferson said.

  • QuikTrip is No. 9 on CSP’s 2024 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by store count.

Founded in 1958, QuikTrip, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has grown to a more than $11 billion company with more than 1,000 stores in 18 states.
