East Graduate Jeremy Ware holds multiple Guinness World Records

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – Jeremy Ware loves the game of basketball, playing as a kid through college, and now just on his free time.

While he was in high school at Cheyenne East he was voted “most likely to break a world record” by his peers, and so far he has lived up to what was expected of him.

Ware says about the nomination, “just kind of cool seeing that it kind of went full circle I’m not sure who voted me that or why but I think that’s pretty cool that I was able to get that done, not just once but three times.”

Ware has earned world records in longest backwards shot (85.5 feet.), most squats on an exercise ball in one minute (37) and also the farthest underhand blindfolded basketball shot (60 feet).

All of his world records he says goes back to when he was younger, from balancing on an exercise ball for strength and stability (which he still does now) to doing half and full court shots just for fun during his basketball career.

However, his world record for the longest backwards basketball shot has been broken and he says he wants to get that one back, and maybe even more.

“You know its a difficult process I’m not gonna lie like training for its not easy, I would love to I definitely want to get the backwards shot one back,” says Ware.

World record breaking training for the East alum involves practice, practice (sometimes a little bit of luck) and more practice.

Not for the exercise ball balanced squats though, Ware said on his first attempt practicing he unofficially broke the world record, in which he also says is his favorite world record.

Ware is currently an Arizona resident, but he still feels the love from our community thousands of miles away.

“I rep Wyoming everywhere I go all the time you know I’m proud to be from the 307 its a part of me it always will be a part of me and I appreciate the love and support.”
