Nashville’s Geodis Park announced as one of 12 host venues for 2025 FIFA Club World Cup

The FIFA Club World Cup is coming to Nashville.

FIFA announced the 12 venues for the 2025 tournament on Saturday at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City. Geodis Park is one of them, along with MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, New Jersey); Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta); Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte); TQL Stadium (Cincinnati); Rose Bowl Stadium (Los Angeles); Hard Rock Stadium (Miami); Camping World Stadium (Orlando); Inter&Co Stadium (Orlando); Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia); Lumen Field (Seattle); and Audi Field (Washington, D.C.).

What is the FIFA Club World Cup?

The 2025 Club World Cup is scheduled to be played from June 15 to July 13, 2025 in the United States. It will be the first to be played under an expanded 32-team format. From 2005 to 2023, the Club World Cup was a seven-team tournament consisting of continental champions from FIFA’s six confederations as well as the champion of the host nation’s top league.

Twelve teams from UEFA (Europe), including Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich, will participate in the Club World Cup. Six slots will go to clubs from COMNEBOL (South America); five to CONCACAF (North America), which includes the United States’ slot as the host nation; four each to CAF (Africa) and AFC (Asia); and one to Oceania (OFC).

The United States’ slot will go to this season’s MLS Cup champion.

The draw for the tournament will take place in December, after which the schedule will be released.

Geodis Park, the largest soccer-specific stadium in the United States, with a capacity of 30,109, has played host to a handful of high-profile events since it opened in May 2022.

The United States men’s national team made its debut at Geodis in October 2023 with a 4-0 friendly victory over Ghana, and the 2023 SheBelieves Cup, won by the U.S. women’s team, took place there as well.

The USWNT is scheduled to host Iceland in a friendly at Geodis on Oct. 27.

In addition, Geodis hosted the final of the 2023 Leagues Cup, in which Lionel Messi and Inter Miami defeated Nashville SC on penalties.

Nashville was a finalist to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada, at Nissan Stadium. However, Nashville was ultimately not selected as one of the tournament’s 16 host cities.
