Letter: Think about the prospect of World War III. A second Trump administration could make it happen.

If I said Trump is the most dangerous man on the planet, you might not believe me. If I said that his intention to have the United States withdraw from NATO will greatly increase the chances of World War III happening soon, you still wouldn’t believe me, right?

Shortly after World War I, the leaders of the U.S. and most European nations also didn’t believe that strategic defensive alliances were the most effective way to stop global war. Despite the fact that 20 million people lost their lives in WWI, these leaders withdrew their support for the League of Nations defensive alliance. They said it had been the “war to end all wars” and it couldn’t happen again. So, just like Trump, they refused to adopt and maintain strong mutual aid alliances between nations. They were dead wrong! Within 20 years, World War II inevitably happened. 75 million more people were slaughtered and the world was again in shambles.

World history shows that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is by far the main reason we haven’t had a global war in eighty years. It also shows there is a very real chance that WWIII will happen if Trump is reelected and pulls the U.S. out of NATO. If war happens, and if the same percentage of the world’s population is killed as what happened in WWIII, then over 270 million people will die. With the inevitable nuclear fallout, perhaps all 8 billion of us will be dead within a few short years.

Your decision on who to vote for this November can be about border policy, economic policy, bathroom policy … whatever. But I suggest there can be no more important reason than the safety of your loved ones and the security of the nation.

Please remember this when you vote: T2 = WWIII.
