Black Friday may be the pick of the litter when it comes to sale events, but Amazon Prime Day doesn’t fall too far behind. In fact, you can often score better deals during Prime Day, since the Amazon deals are exclusive to Prime shoppers and available ahead of the busy holiday shopping rush. October Prime Day will officially be here on Tuesday, October 8 and it’s the leading sale event heading into the holiday season. What to expect during October Prime Day:

October Prime Day is set for Tuesday, October 8 and Wednesday, October 9. With only one week left before the huge shopping event, now’s the time to gear up for big savings on holiday gifts, tech essentials and more.

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale is a 48-hour shopping event. The deals will only be available to Prime members for two days.

October Prime Day is slated to start at 12:01 a.m. PST (3:01 a.m. EST) on Tuesday, October 8. The sale will wrap up the following day at 11:59 p.m. PST (2:59 a.m. EST).

During Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale, you’ll be able to shop deals across all categories at Amazon. From style and beauty to home and kitchen, the discounts will run the gamut. October Prime Day will serve as a particularly good time to shop big-ticket items on sale, like Apple tech, smart home devices, Dyson vacuums, advanced TVs, countertop appliances and furniture. October Prime Day, officially called Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, is a huge Black Friday-level sale happening this fall. The exclusive shopping event boasts rare deals across all categories and offers Prime members first dibs at some of the best deals of the holiday season. This year’s event will take place less than two months before Black Friday 2024, making it the perfect time to save on holiday gifts and hosting essentials.

Everyone with an Amazon Prime membership can shop Prime Day deals this October. Just like Amazon’s main Prime Day sale held in mid July, the Prime Big Deal Days sale is exclusive to Prime shoppers. If you’re not yet an Amazon Prime member, don’t worry—there’s still plenty of time to sign up. If you act now you can even enjoy a one-month free trial to Prime.

A standard Amazon Prime membership costs $14.99 a month, or $139 annually. If you’re a college student, you can get a six-month free trial before paying $7.49 a month (or $69 annually)—which is 50% off the standard price. Meanwhile, qualifying government assistance recipients can try Prime Access, which is 53% off Prime, at just $6.99 per month after their 30-day free trial.
