Kylie Jenner Was a Literal Disney Princess Walking the Coperni Runway During Paris Fashion Week
Kylie Jenner is stepping into her sister Kendall Jenner’s territory during Paris Fashion Week, and if the shoe fits, well…
The 27-year-old makeup mogul modeled (and closed the show) for Coperni on October 1, walking down the runway in a black strapless, drop-waist gown. The look came complete with embellished opera gloves and open-toe heels. This wasn’t just any average runway though, the show took place at Disneyland Paris, and in the background of the grand catwalk was the Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant AKA Sleeping Beauty Castle. So the shoe could be Kendall’s or, I suppose Cinderella’s? (I know I’m mixing my Disney metaphors here but stay with me).
The rest of the Coperni show featured some more obvious Disney motifs including t-shirts and long sleeves with Mickey Mouse images that were styled underneath light-colored mini-dresses, many reminiscent of other princesses like Belle and Cinderella. There was also a more directly related shirt that read: “Coperni Princess,” which surely, Jenner identifies with now.
According to a press release from the brand, the collection is a celebration of youth and nostalgia. “We grew up with Disney as an important part of our childhood,” they wrote. “For many French children, particularly those from the provinces, the first family visit to the «big city Paris» meant a trip to Disneyland Paris, Disney’s fairy tales and characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Ariel from the Little Mermaid, Snow White, Cinderella, and Maleficent were our guides through the complex landscape of human emotions — friendship, love, fear, courage, transformation.”
Though this was Kylie Jenner’s first Paris runway show as a model, British Vogue notes that it wasn’t her first catwalk appearance–she walked for Avril Lavigne’s label in 2011.
