Baton Rouge Metro Airport hosts 19th Annual Business Opportunities Workshop

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport will host the 19th Annual Business Opportunities Workshop on Thursday, October 3.

It’s happening from 9 a.m. until noon at the Raising Cane’s River Center. Registration and breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m.

Organizers announced the in-person event is designed for DBE’s/ACDBE’s, entrepreneurs, small business owners, and industry professionals eager to expand their business capacity, particularly in the aviation industry.

Key event highlights include:

  • Networking with DBEs, vendors, and prime contractors.
  • Hands on technical assistance to register as vendors with the BTR.
  • Identifying local, state, and federal contract opportunities.
  • Gain valuable insights from distinguished guests and industry experts.

The sessions will feature three dynamic panel discussions with presentations on business development strategies and opportunities by DOTD, SBA, LED, City of Baton Rouge, Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), SU Small Business Development Center, BR Airport, and the BR Area Chamber.

Attendees will also benefit from the insight of FAA – Office of Civil Rights and EEO Compliance Specialist DBE/ACDBE, Mr. Shaun Bouy, as well as our local DBE success story, Mr. Craig Stevens, Founder & President of Genesis 360, who will both share expertise and strategies for thriving in the current business landscape.
