Staff report

The Beast of Bladenboro Festival, also known as Beast Fest, is gearing up to bring a weekend filled with excitement, community engagement, and entertainment to downtown Bladenboro, North Carolina. The festival, which takes place annually, is a two-day event celebrating local culture and providing a platform for vendors, artisans, and performers.

Vendor Opportunities

On Saturday, October 26, downtown Bladenboro will host a lively array of arts, foods and crafts vendors. This is an excellent opportunity for local entrepreneurs, business owners, and crafters to showcase their products and services to an engaged and vibrant audience. The festival is still accepting vendor applications, and those interested in participating can contact Claudette Guy at (910) 874-4597 for more details. The event promises a bustling atmosphere perfect for networking and promoting local business ventures.

Music Entertainment

Beast Fest will feature live music performances that will take place across both Friday and Saturday evenings. On Friday night, October 25, the crowd will be treated to a performance by The Pink Slips Band, sponsored by Walane Gas and State Farm – Eddie White. Saturday night, October 26, will be headlined by The Tonez, a band sponsored by Sykes Paving. Both bands promise to deliver a high-energy show, keeping attendees entertained throughout the festival.

Smash the Beast Tennis Tournament

In addition to music and vendors, athletic events are also a key feature of the Beast Fest weekend. The 2nd Annual Smash the Beast Tennis Tournament will take place on Friday, October 4, and Saturday, October 5, at the West Bladen High School Tennis Courts. This event is sponsored by Four County EMC and is expected to draw tennis enthusiasts from across the region, providing competitive play and fun for participants and spectators alike.

Family Fun and Activities for Kids

Families and children will have plenty of activities to enjoy throughout the festival. The Fun for Kids section of Beast Fest includes carnival rides, a costume contest, a hula hoop contest, free buggy rides, and free face painting. Various local businesses have generously sponsored these activities, including Duke Energy, Term Mechanical, Smith & Sons Heating & Cooling, Bladen Online, and Lash & Mane Salon. This ensures that children and their families will have a day filled with fun, creativity, and laughter.

Beast Fest 2024 promises to be an exciting and diverse event, offering something for everyone in the community. Whether you’re an artisan looking to connect with new customers, a music lover, a tennis player, or a family searching for fun-filled activities, the festival will deliver a memorable weekend for all who attend.
