Police: Two charged, 50-plus gambling machines seized
MONTICELLO, Ky. (WYMT) – On Oct. 2, law enforcement in Wayne County conducted a joint operation in Monticello with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The operation followed an investigation into the sale of illegal THC/Marijuana products and illegal gambling facilities.
Multiple locations in the city of Monticello were searched including a Lucky 7 Smoke and Vape Shop, Bootlegger Wine and Spirits, and the North Main Street Valero station.
A search was also conducted at Hick’s Grocery in Wayne County.
Large amounts of THC/Marijuana were seized, as well as, more than 50 electronic gambling machines.
Jaimin Patel, 25, and Obula Reddy, 25 were arrested and were charged with:
- Promoting Gambling (First Degree)
- Possession of Gambling Devices
- Permitting Gambling
- Possession of Gambling Records
