Pumpkin shopping? Check out these 7 places that include free activities

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Carving a pumpkin ranks right up there with trick or treating when it comes to popular traditions for families this time of year.

We’ve teamed up with the West End Mom on ways to save money this month. Here are seven places you can visit for free as you shop for pumpkins:

  • Cross Creek Nursery: Children can enjoy the bounce house, play in the playhouse, and slide
  • Great Big Greenhouse: Every October, The Great Big Greenhouse creates a large Halloween-themed play area with games, pumpkins, a spooky bus and bounce house
  • Levi’s Pumpkin Patch: Levi’s Pumpkins is a family-owned and operated pumpkin patch. Families can visit daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. the entire month.
  • Tom Leonard’s: Friday night moves in the pumpkin patch on Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25.
  • Pole Green Produce: The market goes all out for Halloween. You’ll find giant monsters around the property, Halloween photo ops and a haybale castle.
  • Skinquarter Farm Market: Free admission includes hayrides and access to the corn maze and pumpkin patch. This pumpkin patch also has corn hole, painted pumpkins and photo ops.
  • Gallmeyer Farms: This pumpkin patch is open during the week, which is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers to explore without a crowd. There is free parking and free admission to the hayrides, straw bale maze, picnic and play area. They provide wagons for customers to put their pumpkins in, too.
