Division 1

De Pere Regional (Wednesday)

DE PERE – Bay Port won the regional title with a 359 team score to advance to the sectional meet.

De Pere was second, Green Bay Preble Co-op was third and Notre Dame was fourth to also advance.

Payton Dudra of Bay Port, Lucy Kim of De Pere and Emma Cunningham of Green Bay Preble Co-op all shot 86 to tie for individual medalist honors.

Talia Schlindwein of Wausau East/West, Ella Szekeress of D.C. Everest, Anika Creisher of Wausau East/West and Grace Melzer of Pulaski advanced to sectionals as individual qualifiers.

The sectional is Oct. 8 at Thornberry Creek at Oneida in Hobart.

DE PERE – Denmark won the team title by two shots over Freedom, with the Irish and Winneconne also qualifying for the sectional meet.

Kay Lee McClintock of Freedom shot 91 to earn individual medalist honors. Denmark was led by Whitney Derricks, who shot 99.

Caroline Vanden Heuvel of Xavier, Callaway Goodman of Kiel and Amelia Eiting of Little Chute advanced to the sectional as individual qualifiers.

The sectional is Oct. 8 at Crystal Springs in Seymour.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Luxemburg-Casco 3, Fox Valley Lutheran 0

APPLETON – The Spartans swept the Foxes 27-25, 25-14, 25-16 in a North Eastern Conference match.

“That was a big win against a really good FVL team,” Luxemburg-Casco coach Jeff Frey said. “We challenged the girls before the match to ‘go get it tonight.’ What a response and a huge bounce-back win after Tuesday night. I thought we showed our resiliency tonight. I could not be more proud of the girls.”

Luxemburg-Casco, which is 19-7 overall and 6-1 in the North Eastern Conference, was led by Aubrey Frey with 15 kills and 15 digs. Alayna Deprez had 35 assists and 15 digs. Ella Vander Velden had 10 kills and seven digs. Rylan Kaminski had 12 digs, and Campbell Onell had nine kills and nine digs.

NEW Lutheran 3, Sevastopol 0

GREEN BAY – The Blazers improved to 18-6 overall and 5-0 in the Packerland Conference with a 25-17, 26-24, 25-22 win over the Pioneers.

Emma Laatsch had a double-double for NEW Lutheran wth 19 digs and 11 kills. Abby Kirchner had 32 assists. Sydney Steffel and Kiley Dhein had 11 and 10 digs, respectively. Dhein also had seven kills, as did Lexie Meerstein and Kiera Adams-McIntosh.

Oconto 3, Peshtigo 0

OCONTO – The Blue Devils topped the Bulldogs 25-23, 25-20, 25-21 in a tight nonconference matchup.

Leading the way for Oconto was Alaina Vandenlangenberg with 11 kills and six digs. Kylee Sydor had 11 kills, Kyanne Wusterbarth had 17 digs, and Jaelin Kumhala and Adelyn Martin combined for 34 assists.

Kewaunee 3, Southern Door 0

KEWAUNEE – The Storm defeated the Eagles 25-11, 25-19, 26-24.

Southern Door was led by Alanah Kay with 14 kills. Alanna Paye had 13 digs. McKenna Guilette had 12 assists. Ashlyn Delfosse had 10 assists, while Morgan Miller had 10 digs.

Xavier 3, West De Pere 1

DE PERE – The Hawks defeated the Phantoms 25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21 in a Bay Conference matchup.

Xavier, which is now 5-0 in Bay Conference play, was led by Sydney Neilitz with 51 assists and seven digs. Madison Daley had a double-double with 22 digs and 21 kills for Xavier. Grace Hackl had 18 digs. Ali Tylinski had 17 kills and eight digs. Elle Downs added 10 kills and Rose Kendall had nine kills.

West De Pere is now 4-1 in the conference.

BOYS SOCCER

Green Bay Preble 2, De Pere 1

DE PERE – Huj Chi Vang scored off a deflection by Talan LeCaptaine on a corner kick to break the tie in the second half as the Hornets handed the Redbirds their first Fox River Classic Conference loss of the year.

Brogdan Tereshchenko opened the scoring off a pass from Vang in the first half, but De Pere answered on a penalty kick by Brady Shanda.

Logan Nycz made eight saves for the Redbirds, while Landin Gauthier made three saves for the Hornets.

Green Bay Southwest 2, Ashwaubenon 1

ASHWAUBENON – Ben Lewis scored off an assist from Abdimalik Musse at the 53rd minute to propel the Trojans to the Fox River Classic Conference win over the Jaguars.

Landon Wierschke opened the scoring at the 27th minute off an assist by Mason Hermes.

Ashwaubenon evened things up in 49th minute on a goal by Chase Beyer.

The Trojans took charge four minutes later and never looked back.

Raymond Arrozal made seven saves in net for Southwest, while Colby Biemeret had four saves for Ashwaubenon.

The win moves the Trojans to 1-4 in the FRCC and 1-7 overall, while Ashwaubenon falls to 0-5 in conference and 3-11 overall.

Pulaski 3, Sheboygan South 0

SHEBOYGAN – Maddox McKeefry scored twice and Donovan Holderness once as the Red Raiders jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead and never looked back.

Holderness got the scoring started in the 12th minute off an assist from Hudson Schultz.

McKeefry scored three minutes later as Josh Aranda assisted on the play.

McKeefry finished the scoring with a goal in the 58th minute with an assist from Parker Sanders.

Josh Roth made four saves in net for the Red Raiders, while Hudson Toutenhoofd made 10 for South.

The win moves Pulaski to 2-3 in the Fox River Classic Conference and 10-3-2 overall, while the Redwings fall to 1-4 in the conference and 3-8-1 overall.
