Apple Has Already Started Sourcing OLED Displays For The iPhone SE 4 Ahead Of Its Spring Launch In Spring Of 2025

The iPhone SE 4 will finally jump away from the traditional design language and adopt a more modern solution with Face ID, a larger and edge-to-edge display, and powerful internals. The best aspect of the device is its ability to handle Apple Intelligence features, which gives us a glimpse at the company’s decision to incorporate the latest internals on the device. It is now being reported that Apple has already begun sourcing the new OLED displays for the iPhone SE 4.

Apple has started sourcing OLED panels from BOE for the iPhone SE 4, hinting at launch in the first half of next year

According to DigiTimes, Apple has started sourcing OLED displays for the iPhone SE 4, Apple’s budget solution to the iPhone lineup. This means that the launch of the device is nearing in, as the company has started accumulating various components for the device. DigiTimes states in the “Tomorrow’s Headlines” section of its website that “Apple has begun to source OLED panels for its next-generation iPhone SE series from BOE and other Chinese manufacturers, according to industry sources.”

Take note that the full report has not been published yet, and once it is, we will have additional details on the device and its launch time frame. It is worth mentioning that the report is in line with prior reports of BOE supplying Apple with OLED panels for the iPhone SE 4; however, it does mention other Chinese manufacturers.

The next iPhone SE will be a major upgrade over the current generation SE, as it will completely redefine the design of the device, which is expected to be in close terms to the iPhone 14 lineup. However, the device will be even better than the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 15, for that matter, as it is expected to come with Apple Intelligence features onboard.

Apple has set a few hardware requirements for Apple Intelligence, and the iPhone SE 4 will match all of them, making it a close contender to the iPhone 16, unlike any older model. Other than internals, we are also expecting a bigger 6.1-inch display for the device, which will house all the necessary sensors for Face ID authentication.

As for the launch, Mark Gurman previously stated that Apple would introduce the next iPhone SE early next year, which is in line with prior releases. For instance, all three iPhone SE models were launched in either March or April, and we suspect that the company will follow the same trend again. Do you think the iPhone SE 4 is a better choice than the iPhone 16 lineup? Let us know in the comments.
