Authorities investigating homicide near Jackson business

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A man is dead, and another man is in custody following a deadly shooting near a Jackson business.

The Jackson Police Department tells WLBT 3 On Your Side that the incident occurred Friday on West McDowell Road near Belvedere Drive.

The department’s investigation centered around the outside area of South Side Barber and Beauty Shop.

A press release says 42-year-old Tremaine Curry was shot multiple times. He died at the scene.

Officers arrested 25-year-old Emanuel Jaynes and took him to JPD headquarters. He is charged with murder.
