Organ-ized ‘Hunchback’
The Arkansas Cinema Society screens the 1923 silent version of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” with organist Jason Roberts playing the score live-to-screen, 7 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 W. 17th St., Little Rock. Lon Chaney plays the title role of Quasimodo with Patsy Ruth Miller as Esméralda, the gypsy girl. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets are $15, $10 for children and senior citizens. ◼️ “Moulin Rouge!” 2:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, 501 E. Ninth St., Little Rock. Kidman and Ewan McGregor star in the musical tale of a young Englishman in 1899 Paris who becomes infatuated with a singer at the Moulin Rouge, who in turn has been promised by the club manager to a duke in return for funding his next production, and who, as her wedding day draws closer, hides a fatal secret.
◼️ “Practical Magic,” 2:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. Kidman and Sandra Bullock play magical sisters who unwittingly unleash an evil spirit while trying to resurrect a corpse.

‘Enchanted Evening‘
Singer Stella Cole, trumpeter Benny Benack III, tap dancer Jabu Graybeal and a live five-piece band have put together a concert titled “Some Enchanted Evening,” tunes from Broadway, silver screen and the Great American Songbook from the Golden Age of Broadway to today, with two Arkansas performances this week:

‘My Fair Lady’
Argenta Contemporary Theater, 405 Main St., North Little Rock, stages “My Fair Lady” (music by Frederick Loewe, book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner based on the 1938 film adaptation of George Bernard Shaw’s 1913 play “Pygmalion”), with preview performances at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday; thereafter, 7:30 p.m. Friday and Oct. 15-19, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Oct. 13. Leading a cast of 20, Karen Q. Clark plays Cockney flower seller Eliza Doolittle and Greta Robinson plays Henry Higgins, the linguist who “re-creates” her. ‘Field Notes’
“Field Notes,” 33 photographs focusing on landscapes where natural features have been disrupted, such as abandoned quarries and construction sites, by Gary Cawood, professor emeritus at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, is on display through Oct. 25 in Lyon College’s Kresge Gallery, Alphin Humanities Building, 2300 Highland Road, Batesville. Cawood will give an artist talk as part of a reception, 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Admission to the gallery and reception are free.

‘Rat Pack’ choreography
Western Arkansas Ballet’s fall ballet performance, “Showtime,” is onstage at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday at the King Opera House, 427 Main St., Van Buren. ‘Poverty, By America’
New York Times bestselling author Matthew Desmond, a professor of sociology at Princeton University, will give a lecture focused on his latest book “Poverty, By America,” 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the University Theatre in the Center for Performing Arts at University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 2801 S. University Ave., Little Rock. Little Rock Vice Mayor Kathy Webb will join Desmond for an onstage, post-lecture conversation; a book signing will follow in the theater lobby.
