One of the biggest T. Rex cast skeletons in the world is now in Michigan

DETROIT – You can see one of the largest T. Rex cast skeletons on earth at a new exhibit which just opened in Michigan.

Tyrannosaurs – Meet the Family” is at the Michigan Science Center in Detroit through January 12, 2025.

The exhibition features Scotty, one of the largest full-sized T. Rex cast skeletons. There’s also other tyrannosaur skeleton casts, fossils and interactive stations. The exhibition was created by the Australian Museum.

“This exhibit does a lot with augmented reality, as well as touch screens and immersive experiences that allow you to feel what it would be like if dinosaurs walked among us,” Dr. Christian Greer, President & CEO of the Michigan Science Center said.

Visitors will see the evolution of the tyrannosaurs, from the smaller, early versions to the towering beasts.

“If you’ve seen some of those shows where you’re walking with dinosaurs, this is trying to give you that same sort of feel. And it not only will showcase the T. Rex, but you’ll learn about its family tree.”

Tickets to the Michigan Science Center and the dinosaur exhibition are available online or in person at the box office.
