Travel package tickets for Coldplay’s Hong Kong shows snapped up within minutes

Fans and overseas visitors have scrambled for Coldplay’s coming shows in Hong Kong on the second day of sales, with tickets on a partner travel platform sold out in just 10 minutes.

Overseas customers were expected to account for most of Tuesday’s ticket sales, which began at 10am, as the concert passes had to be bought in pairs and as part of a package including one- or two-night hotel stays.

A check by the Post found there were about 1,500 users in travel platform Klook’s virtual waiting room as soon as the clock struck 10am. Within minutes, that number had jumped to more than 30,000.

Once they made it to the purchasing page, customers were directed to choose which day’s concert tickets they wished to buy, pick a hotel, and decide if they wanted to stay for one or two nights.

They were also required to provide the names listed on their passports for the ticket purchases and hotel stays.

By 10.08am, the Post found all hotel options were no longer available, indicating they had been sold out.

The Post has reached out to Klook on the exact number of tickets sold on Tuesday.
