A product of Toronto, Ont., Subban spent time with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Cleveland Monsters and Springfield Thunderbirds last season. With Springfield, he posted a 11-14-4 record to go along with a 2.94 GAA and a .907 SV% in 31 appearances. In Cleveland, he collected a 0-3-0 record, a 4.56 GAA and a .853 SV% in four appearances. In his one game with the Blue Jackets, Subban had a 3.00 GAA and a .914 SV%.
Drafted by the Boston Bruins in the first round of the 2012 NHL Draft, Subban has played for the Bruins, Vegas Golden Knights, Chicago Blackhawks, Buffalo Sabres and the Blue Jackets over his nine seasons in the NHL. In 87 career games, he collected a record of 36-34-9, a 3.10 GAA and a .898 SV%.
Although Subban is joining the Griffins on a PTO, he could have a great chance of earning a contract with the team. He has been a reliable AHL goaltender for the duration of his career and could form a solid tandem with Sebastian Cossa.
