North Allegheny traveled north to Erie, PA to take on Cathedral Prep in a Western Conference matchup. The boys remained unbeaten in conference play with a 16-7 win over the Ramblers while the girls got above .500 with a 13-7 win.
In the girls match, things were tight after three quarters with the Tigers leading 8-6. NA would outscore Cathedral Prep 5-1 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the victory. Bella Spino, Tori Tieppo and Lily Tang all scored four goals for the Tigers. Tang also had four assists and two steals. Tieppo added two assists and two steals. Mikaela Dassanaike dished out three assists. Katherine Vales made nine saves in net.
On the boys side, NA led 9-3 at halftime and would roll to the 16-7 win. Callan Bunger had five goals to lead the North Allegheny offense. Tabari Morgan scored four goals to go along with three steals and two assists. Grant Regule had a hat trick and two assists. Caden Currykosky added two goals, two assists and two steals. Mason Shantz tallied a goal to go along with two assists and two steals. Mike Stefanko made seven saves and had an assist.
The NA girls improve their record to 7-6 overall. The boys are now 11-3 overall. The Tigers will be back in Erie on Friday when they take part in the second Erie Challenge at McDowell High School over the weekend.
