You won’t have to travel to Copenhagen, Paris or Venice to treat yourself to a stay at a luxurious, world-class hotel.

All you have to do is travel to and through Pennsylvania.

The Sofitel Hotel in Philadelphia and the Kimpton Hotel Monaco on Pittsburgh have landed in the top 100 of Conde Nast Traveler’s prestigious “Best Hotels in the World,” as ranked by thousands of readers.

Here’s why Kimpton Hotel Monaco and the Sofitel Hotel ranked so highly.

Where is the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh?

Condé Nast Traveler tallied 575,048 votes cast in its 37th annual Readers’ Choice Awards survey which asked questions related to location, room space, amenities and consigliere services.

The Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh ranked 48 on Condé Nast Traveler’s Best Hotels in the World list.

“With plush blue velvet couches and tongue-in-cheek artwork sidled up by lime-green tufted headboards and bright-yellow bird cage light fixtures, this quirky 248-room stay could read as a total design disaster — but by some Seussical miracle, it all works,” read Condé Nast Traveler’s review of Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh. “Characteristically thoughtful Kimpton amenities include a minibar stocked with gourmet local treats, Frette linens, and even a yoga mat.”

Condé Nast Traveler also gave the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh points for the hotel’s rooftop offerings, wine hours in the various lodge rooms, being pet-friendly, and for having round-the-clock room service.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh also received praise for its hip and modern additions to the James H. Reed building.

Where is the Sofitel Hotel in Philadelphia?

The Sofitel Hotel — officially titled the Sofitel Philadelphia at Rittenhouse Square — is located in Philadelphia’s French Quarter, nestled just above Broad Street in the city’s pricy Rittenhouse district.

Sofitel Hotel ranked 34th on Condé Nast Traveler’s list of the 100 best hotels in the world.

Sofitel Hotel is located on a tight, one-way street, but Condé Nast readers didn’t seem to mind the nearly perpetually blocked and slowed traffic caused by hotel visitors.

“But once you’re greeted by the cheery bellmen and step inside the spacious lobby, decked out with a geometric-print stone floor, funky artwork, and comfy lounge seating; all that exterior chaos will fade away,” read Condé Nast Traveler’s review of Sofitel Hotel. “Hit Chez Colette for a French-inspired breakfast or weekend brunch, and take advantage of the hotel’s prime location — right near Michael Solomonov’s Abe Fisher and Dizengoff, and Stephen Starr’s The Dandelion and The Love — come dinnertime.”
