LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball (6-10, 2-2 SLC) will travel to New Orleans (2-15, 0-5 SLC) Thursday, Oct. 10 for a 6:30 p.m. match before ending its week with a 12 p.m. match at Southeastern (13-4, 5-0 SLC) on Saturday.
The Cowgirls will carry a two-match winning streak into the weekend after straight set wins over New Orleans last Saturday and Nicholls on Tuesday night. The matches against UNO and Southeastern will be the second of the season in a week’s span.
MATCH NOTES
• McNeese has been hit with injuries this season. Taylor Thomas, Emareee Harris, and Kayla Wilson will miss the rest of the season due to injuries.
• Coming off a three-match home stand that started last Thursday, Oct. 3 against Southeastern
• Enter the weekend on a two-match winning streak and are currently tied for fourth place in the SLC after straight set wins over New Orleans last Saturday and most recently a win over Nicholls on Tuesday
• It will be the second time the Cowgirls face both UNO and Southeastern this season, playing both one week ago in Lake Charles
• It will be the second and third matches for the Cowgirls this week
• Senior McKenzie Moore leads the conference in kills with 244 for an average of 4.36 per set.
• Moore is also second on the team in blocks with 38 and third in digs with 146.
• Senior Bailey Tillman leads the team and ranks fourth in the SLC in digs with 250 for an average of 4.46 per set.
• Lacie Schooley is coming off a career high 18 assists against Nicholls
• Schooley leads the team with 11 aces
• Megan Grose leads McNeese with 296 assists
• Naterah Moore leads the Cowgirls with 48 blocks
• Bailey Tillman has a team best 250 digs and ranks fourth in McNeese career digs. Tillman enters the weekend with 1,617, needing 84 to move into third place.
• Return five players return from last season
• Have 12 newcomers including four freshmen
