Rock XC travels to Edinboro Friday – Slippery Rock University Athletics

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men’s and women’s cross country teams will travel to Edinboro Friday for the Fighting Scots Invite at the Doug Watts XC Course.

MEN’S PREVIEW  |  DII Regional Rankings
This marks the final tune-up for SRU before championship season begins. The Rock will take next week off before traveling to Kutztown Oct. 26 for the PSAC Championships.
 
Slippery Rock will send 13 men to compete this week with a few athletes taking the week off. Included in the group of athletes that will take this week off are two of The Rock’s top scorers in seniors Troy Hart and Devon Navaroli.
 
The rest of SRU’s scorers from last week’s Paul Short Run are entered to compete this week. That group includes three of last week’s scorers in John Juszynski, Ryan Czechowski and Eli Schreiber, along with Brady Hoffman, Michael Novak and Michael Gauntner, who all competed in the scored race last week as well.
 
The Rock will also send Joey Cintavey to compete for just the second time this year as he works his way back from injury. SRU will also enter Easton Adamczyk, Dom Bumblis, Tucker Davis, Noah Johnson, Harrison Repko and Dylan Ribelin in the meet.

Slippery Rock will send 15 women to compete this week with a few athletes taking the week off. Included in the group of athletes that will take this week off are The Rock’s top two runners in Anna Igims and Ruthie Hughes, who both posted top 10 showings at the Paul Short Run last week.
 
The other eight SRU runners that competed in the scored race at the Paul Short Run last week are entered to compete, including last week’s scorers Morgan Dennison, Jennifer Cichra and Maddie Grillo. That trio will be joined by Tatiana Holt, Hannah Burgoon, Carissa Flynn and Caitlin Willer, who all ran in the scored race last week.
 
In addition to those seven, The Rock will send eight more entries this weekend, including, Grace Dahlke, Camryn Guffey, Skye Hackathorn, Lizzie Higgins, Ava Holbrook, Madi Koza, Rachel Singley and Lydia Valeriano.

Live results are scheduled to be available during the races at the Wolf Creek Timing site. Recaps from both races and final results will be posted to RockAthletics.com Friday evening.
 
UP NEXT
Slippery Rock will take next weekend off before returning to action Oct. 26 at the PSAC Championships, hosted by Kutztown University.
