Volleyball Travels to Iowa To Face Bulldogs, Panthers – Murray State University Athletics

The Murray State Racers (9-5, 4-1 MVC) will play Missouri Valley Conference Matches on the road against Drake (8-7, 4-0 MVC) and UNI (9-7, 4-0 MVC).

 

The Racers enter the weekend winners in four of their five games to open the conference slate following a reverse sweep over Belmont (7-10, 2-3 MVC) in a Tuesday night matchup.  

 

The Racers enter the weekend as one of the most efficient teams in the MVC hitting .219, tied with UNI for second best in the conference. 

 

Bailey DeMier continues to be among the best facilitators in the conference, with her 9.63 assists per set leading the MVC. Ella Vogel is among the most productive attackers in the conference, with her 4.13 kills per set second in the MVC. Dahlia Miller sits at third in the MVC and tenth in the nation with 5.11 digs per set.  

 

Drake is 4-0 in MVC play with a pair of 3-1 road wins over UIC and Valparaiso on October 4 and 5.

 

Drake is led by outside hitter Macy Daufeldt, who leads the team with 217 kills, and libero Jada Wills who leads the MVC with 6.41 kills per set and a total of 346 on the season.  

 

The Bulldogs are one of the most formidable defensive teams in the conference as their 17.57 digs per set are second most in the conference and they are fifth in block with 1.93 per set. 

 

UNI also sits at 4-0 in MVC play after beating Valparaiso 3-2 and sweeping UIC last weekend. 

 

The Panthers lead the conference in both assists and kills, averaging 12.82 and 13.81 respectively.  

 

Kaci Rewerts currently leads the MVC in blocks per set at 1.25 and 71 total.  Kira Fallert and Cassidy Hartman with 3.67 and 3.54 per set, good for fifth and sixth best in the MVC.  Libero Erin Powers averages 4.61 digs per set with a total of 263, sixth-best in the conference.
