Empower: Journey to the Future Fashion Show takes center stage – KBSI Fox 23 Cape Girardeau News | Paducah News

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI)- This year’s highly anticipated “Empower: Journey to the Future” fashion show is just around the corner, and excitement is building.

The event, which aims to raise awareness and funds to end domestic violence, features a diverse cast of models, including cover model Anna Davis.

Davis, a teacher by day, was chosen from an open casting call that drew women of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds.

“It’s a massive honor; I hope I do it justice,” she said, beaming. “I’m on cloud nine, top of the moon.”

The futuristic-themed show promises to be an unforgettable experience, with 40 “real women” paired with four stylists to craft their unique looks.

Veteran stylist Rachel McNeely noted, “Every year, we get a different response, and every year we end up ahead of the trend.”

Behind the scenes, volunteer hair and makeup artists, led by Sarah Kilpela, work tirelessly to bring the vision to life.

“Being able to flex my artistic talent is phenomenal,” Kilpela said.

“It’s not competition; it’s collaboration, promoting each other.”

Davis invites the community to join the journey, where fashion, inspiration, and hope meet the runway.

“This show has become vital to the community,” she said.

“Dive in, come see me, see whoever you know that is in the show.”

Proceeds benefit the Safe House for Women. Don’t miss this empowering event!
