Warikoo shed light on what all transpired before and after the surgery.
One can trust entrepreneur and modern-age self-help guru Ankur Warikoo to share inspirational stories from his life. In 2012, at the age of 32, Warikoo was diagnosed with avascular necrosis, a condition that was causing decay on the right hip bone. This diagnosis led to major surgery followed by bed rest of three months and the use of crutches for five months.
In an Instagram post, Warikoo shed light on what all transpired before and after the surgery. What accompanied the post was a collage of two pictures. More on that a little later.
The limitations imposed by the disease and its slow recovery period meant that Warikoo rarely got to exercise, which made him obese. However, one day he resolved to run a marathon and joined a gym for the first time in his life. After 10 months of consistent practice, he completed a 21 kilometer marathon.
However, for some reason this achievement did not satiate Warikoo, who promptly set another fitness goal of getting six pack abs. He recalled that at the time his body fat percentage was 26 percent, whereas the body fat percentage should be under 10 percent for abs. Warikoo then made many lifestyle choices and wrote, “I needed to change my entire life. My diet, my sleep schedule, my fitness regime. And I did. I got 6-pack abs. I got fit. Working out became a daily affair.” He added, “10 years later (2024), I decided to go through the journey again and get the 6-pack abs. Today, I am 43 and “fat-free”! And I know that this routine, lifestyle, and mindset which started 10yrs back, will stay with me for life. Forever grateful for this ‘second’ life”
He shared a photo showing his physique before the six-pack abs and after getting the abs. This post got over 96,000 likes in less than 24 hours. Commenting on it, an X user wrote, “That’s a great journey Warikoo sir.. It’s really an inspiration for those who have gone for a workout yet!!”
In the caption of the above mentioned post, Warikoo also pointed his followers to a 41 minute YouTube video in which he detailed his fitness journey extensively. This YouTube video titled, “Fat Free at 43″ has over 2.8 lakh likes. In the video description box, Warikoo shares his vegetarian diet that he follows on most days and his workout regime that includes a mix of playing tennis and home workout.
He also writes a disclaimer in the video description box that clarifies that he is neither a nutritionist or a medical professional. He added, “Everything that I say in this video is from my own research and understanding and my own experience. Please do not think of it as the truth or the only truth. This process worked for me and it may not work for you.”
