WASHINGTON – The No. 18 Georgetown University women’s soccer team will travel to the Windy City to face the DePaul Blue Demons on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. CST/2 p.m. EST at Wish Field.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

  • No. 18 Georgetown (8-1-4, 4-0-1 BE) is coming off a 3-0 victory against the St. John’s Red Storm last Sunday at Shaw Field.
  • Cara Martin was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday for her efforts in a 1-0-1 week for GU. Martin made one save against Butler and one against St. John’s in 90 minutes of action. The Hoyas secured their ninth shutout of the season against the Johnnies, a mark that ranks tied for third nationally.
  • Eliza Turner earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after another sensational week. Turner netted two goals in two games as the senior has had an impressive stretch of games scoring six goals in the last seven games. Turner also earned a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Midseason National Player Rankings coming in at #25.
  • Claire Manning ranks 21st nationally in assists with six to her credit this season. Maja Lardner is 25th in the country in game-winning goals with three. Martin ranks third nationally in GAA boasting a 0.276.
  • Georgetown currently ranks seventh nationally in shots per game (20.31), fifth in the nation in corner kicks per game (7.92), 13th in GAA (0.462), 11th in shots on goal per game (9.00) and is eighth in shutout percentage (0.692).

ABOUT DEPAUL

  • DePaul (2-5-5, 0-1-3 BE) enters Sunday’s contest after a 1-1 draw with Marquette last Sunday.
  • Freya Jupp paces the Blue Demon offense with seven points this season. Jupp leads the team with three goals and has one assist to her credit.
  • In goal, Elena Milam has logged 1,069 minutes and boasts a 1.33 GAA. Milam has made 39 saves and has four shutouts on the season.
