The Aiken County Coroner’s Office will hold the 2024 Pauper Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Graniteville Cemetery. Being laid to rest are: Leon Jasinski, Ranae Burns, Robert McHugh, Roberta Lambert, Ronald Lange, John Read, Larry Lewis, James Kenny, Jimmy Tanner, Robert Phillips, Charles Wright, Alfred Kapazira, James Clifton, David Krall II, Charles Anderson and Wade Gable. 

CNTA will hold its 33rd annual Teller Lecture Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Columbia County Expo Center, 212 Partnership Drive, Grovetown, Georgia. The program begins at 5 p.m. with a public reception and nuclear technology expo followed by dinner, lecture and an awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 and must be purchased by Friday, Oct. 11. A Trick-or-Treat Drop-In will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the Aiken County Visitors Center, 133 Laurens St. N.W. Drop-in, make a craft, get a spooky treat and show off your costume. This event is free to the public while supplies last. For more information, call 803-642-7557 or email tourism@aikencountysc.gov.

The Aiken Ghost Tours Haunted History Fall Tours will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25, 26, 27 and 31. Tours depart from the graveyard at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church. Reservations are recommended. A Trunk-or-Treat event will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Horse Creek Academy, 1200 Toolebeck Road. The cost to host a trunk is $10. Admission is free. For more information or to host a trunk, email kmassotti4@gmail.com.

The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism department will hold a Trunk-or-Treat from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Citizens Park, 1060 Banks Mill Road. The event will feature Music, carnival games, food vendors and more. The event is for ages 12 and under. Admission is $1. Cash is preferred. No pets are allowed.
