Fire and explosions rip through travel trailer

No one was hurt but explosions and flames destroyed a a large fifth wheel travel trailer at about 1 p.m. Sunday on Farm to Market Road 252, about four miles south of Jasper, according to Steve W Stewart with our media partner, KJAS.

A neighbor, Leif Howard, said he was in his house, heard an explosion and looked outside to see the travel trailer in flames. Howard said there were at least six more explosions from multiple propane tanks.

He says the owner of the travel trailer wasn’t home and no one was hurt.

Jasper firefighters arrived to find the RV fully engulfed and immediately went to work battling the blaze. The Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department also responded to assist with a tanker truck and manpower.

There’s no word yet on what may have sparked the fire.
