Spoiled Cat’s Ultra-Luxury Shopping Spree Is Giving Everyone Major FOMO

I never thought I’d say I was jealous of a cat, but here we are. Messi is a gorgeous Persian cat who is the definition of spoiled, and their shopping sprees probably cost more than most of us make in a year. Messi’s dad posted a video of the two of them at the mall at the end of September, and I’m green with envy!

The two visit ultra-luxury shops where you normally need an appointment to get into. The cat got a new Gucci collar. In Fendi, they got a new coat. In Chanel, they tried on a necklace probably worth more than my wedding ring. Watch on to see where else the cat takes dad, as he lets Messi lead the way.

As you can imagine, Messi’s video went viral and has more than 7.5 million views, over a million likes, and more than 7 thousand comments. People had a lot to say about the Persian cat’s shopping spree. @rahman got nearly 37 thousand likes for their comment, “Did she just called me poor in every possible language?” and @Moon added, “I can tell from their walk they are indeed a regular costumer LOL!” I laughed at @Claudio who joked, “My cat started packing her bags.” and another commenter added, “My cat sent me this.” @Ulta Beauty even chimed in with, “Me as a cat, if anyone cares.”

Very Spoiled and Pampered Pets

While many of us spoil our pets, I’m pretty sure it’s not to the level as celebrities and the ultra-rich do. There are some very pampered pets out there, and people spend crazy amounts of money on them.

Rover shared the story of Lucky Diamond, the Maltese Poodle of animal advocate and Animal Fair magazine founder Wendy Diamond. Diamond planned a wedding for her pooch that cost nearly $140,000 and “included a $4,000 dog dress, a sushi bar, and, in Jewish tradition, a chupah. Unfortunately, Lucky passed just before she was set to make her vows to one Mr. Lucky lad, but the party went on as scheduled—this time, celebrating Lucky’s life. Which, by the way, was very glamorous and included jet-setting vacations and nearly 400 celebrity encounters—the Guinness World Record for a dog!”

How do you know if you’ve got a spoiled pup? Forbes Advisor says that there are signs. They include buying your dog outfits and accessories, spending more on your dog’s health and grooming than your own, throwing them birthdays and other celebrations, taking your dog on vacation with you, and spritzing your pooch with perfume or cologne.

We all spoil our pets in different ways, and I’m guessing that if I was a millionaire, I’d probably spend stupid amounts of money on my dog. To each their own. And it’s okay if like me you’re jealous of spoiled pets; based on the comments on Messi’s post, we are not alone!
