Gulf Coast Sports and Entertainment Network brings Pels games to Acadiana with Lafayette deal

LAFAYETTE, La. (WVUE) – New Orleans Pelicans games will be broadcast free and over the air this season in Acadiana, as Gray Media’s new Gulf Coast Sports and Entertainment Network announced a deal Wednesday (Oct. 16) with the Delta Media Corporation.

With the new partnership, all non-exclusively televised Pelicans games will be broadcast in Lafayette on The Action Channel KXKW 32.1. Regular-season coverage begins with the Pelicans’ home opener next Wednesday (Oct. 23) against the Chicago Bulls, a 7 p.m. tipoff at the Smoothie King Center.

“I approached Gray Media over a month ago and I am delighted that we have come to the agreement to carry the New Orleans Pelicans on one of our signals,” said Delta Media Corporation general manager and vice president Johnette Cochran. “KXKW 32.1 The Action Channel will be the home of the New Orleans Pelicans this year in Acadiana and I’m very pleased for this partnership.”
