Getting crafty for Halloween with Market City Shopping Center

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Market City Shopping Center in Kaimuki is hosting its free annual Halloween event this Saturday, Oct. 19, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Joy Shimabukuro, Creative Director of HouseMart Ben Franklin stores, joined HNN Sunrise to talk about the event and show easy craft ideas to do with keiki.

Shimabukuro showed how to make a fun black cat ornament using a wooden ornament, black acrylic paint, paintbrush, paper and a heart punch or scissors for the ears, chalk markers for drawing the face, a glow marker for coloring the eyes and nose, and glue.

Arts and crafts led by Ben Franklin stores are among the many activities on Saturday, including trick-or-treating throughout the center, free photo booth, costume contest, popcorn, balloons, treat bags for the keiki, prizes and gift certificates, and a chance to create keepsake crafts.
