After witnessing the stunning fashion moments from the women at the Vogue Forces of Fashion event in Shenzhen, I couldn’t resist checking out how the men fared—and they certainly did not disappoint. From custom creations to sustainable innovations, the gentlemen brought their A-game. Here’s a breakdown of the standout looks.

The Intriguing Flutter

Gong Jun has a clear penchant for statement jackets, and his Mithridate custom suit was no exception. Inspired by the Fall 2024 collection, the army green suit featured textured elements, adding depth and intrigue. What isn’t evident from the picture, but what I later discovered in videos – is the subtle movement of the butterflies and flowers on his jacket, creating a dynamic visual.

As a Messika ambassador, Gong completed his look with an exquisite emerald tie necklace, perfectly complementing his ensemble. This was a beautiful blend of texture and elegance.

Art Meets Sustainability

Mikah’s outfit was perhaps the most avant-garde of the night, showcasing the concept of sustainability in a completely new way from On Borrowed Fabric from Eden Tan’s Central Saint Martins’s 2023 BA graduate show. Crafted from an uncut roll of fabric, his trompe l’oeil look featured jeans and a white t-shirt, with slits for positioning himself.

The concept? Fascinating. The practicality? Not so much. Can you imagine carrying around a roll of fabric all night? But from a fashion perspective, it was certainly one of the night’s most daring and artistic statements.

Deconstructed Moth Beauty

Zhang Linghe celebrated the beauty of deconstruction in his Robert Wun Fall 2024 Couture look. The blue and black ensemble was inspired by the disintegration of moths and woollen cloth, with abstract, distressed fragments adding texture. The feathered moths, though, stole the show, bringing an air of whimsical elegance to his look.

Schoolboy Charm

Dylan Wang’s Louis Vuitton Resort 2025 look gave us a healthy dose of schoolboy charm, thanks to his tweed jacket, high socks and shorts combination. His Louis Vuitton monogram Pooch bag from the Spring 2025 collection added just the right amount of playful luxury to his outfit.

Mauve Elegance

Wang Xingyue delivered a swoon-worthy moment in a Saint Laurent Spring 2025 suit. The mauve hue was complemented perfectly by the midnight blue shirt and tie combo, resulting in a clean and elegant look. The simplicity here was the key to its beauty—every element was perfectly balanced.

Illusions of Denim

Wang Yibo jumped on the trompe l’oeil trend, rocking Acne Studios Spring 2025 trousers that gave the illusion of denim, complete with printed chains, charms, and belts; a look that was recently spotted on Yseult. Some might find the cardigan a strange pairing with the streetwear flair of the trousers, but not everyone is as bold as Yseult to rock a full look.
